At Hidden Acres, we believe that people of all abilities have been created to experience community! Our vision for LINC is to use its programs as a place of connection and growth for young adults with special needs. Come join us, and be part of a safe community where friendships will flourish, skills will be developed and a lot of fun will be had!
LINC Retreats
Our Fall and Winter Retreats will be a multi day, overnight experience for young adults with disabilities, to provide a break from their regular routines while fostering a sense of community, belonging and fun!
Our Fall Retreat will run November 18-20 for adults aged 18-35.
Registration will open Monday, September 23rd at 7 a.m.
If you are interested in staffing the LINC
Retreat, fill out a staff application below!
LINC Connect Day Program
Formerly known as "CLASP", LINC Connect will run on Mondays and focus on building community, friendship and connection through fun and engaging activities. For ages 18+.
LINC Skills Day Program
Our skills program will run on Tuesdays and will be geared towards individuals who enjoy connecting and building community and are also seeking opportunities for growing their independence, like-skills and leadership. This program is geared towards those who are already experiencing some independence in their daily life. Examples would be having a part-time job, taking public transportation on their own, volunteering independently or semi-independently, etc. For ages 18+.
These two programs will run on Mondays and Tuesdays each week from September 16/17 2024 to June 2/3 2025. We will gather at 9:30 am and finish our day at 4:30pm.
Participants considering a LINC day program will start by registering for the one that
suits them best. Opportunity for multi day registration will be discussed once we have
been able to evaluate the demand and our capacities.
We are limiting registration to 8 participants a day.
The price for each day is $100/day. You can sign up for as many or as few of the days as you'd like.
Campers will need to bring their own snacks and lunches. We will have short breaks in the morning and afternoon for snacks and then a longer break for lunch. Hidden Acres strives to minimize our impact on the environment and encourages campers to use re-usable containers and create as little waste as possible. A microwave would be available if needed.
Please wear weather appropriate clothing as we like to spend time outdoors.
If you are familiar with our summer camps, LINC is not an extension of our SYAC program as it has a different purpose with different goals. LINC is the new name for our year round disability programming. We will have a 4:1 camper to staff ratio and therefore will NOT have the same level of support that SYAC affords. Campers will need to be able to participate fully with this level of support, be generally independent in the washroom and not have any aggressive behaviors. Our SYAC program won’t change and will remain a part of our summer camp.
Safety Practices and Policies
We want all of our participants to feel safe and welcome at LINC.
Cancellation Policy - if a cancellation has to occur due to medical issues we can either provide a refund for the day's fees, carry your fees to another day or they can be turned into a donation to support the work of the camp.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding any details of LINC or our practices and policies, please contact our LINC Coordinator, CC Weber at cc@hiddenacres.ca or call the camp at 519-625-8602.
