Housekeeping – Job Description

The Housekeeper supports the ministry of Hidden Acres by ensuring facilities are kept clean, in good condition, reflecting an atmosphere of hospitality and caring.
The Housekeeper is responsible to the Senior Housekeeper and to the Housekeeping Coordinator when the Senior Housekeeper is not on site.
The Housekeeper should have a Christian faith commitment and a willingness to identify with the Hidden Acres mission statement.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
The person filling this position should be a self-starter, capable of both following directions and initiating action to get the job done well.
This individual should be flexible and able to adapt their schedule to meet the requirements of the Hidden Acres program.
The person must have interest, experience and competence in a variety of housekeeping-related tasks.

The Housekeeper has responsibility for:

  1. Ensuring that all facilities of the various buildings are kept clean and prepared in a timely manner for group use in accordance with the booking schedule.
    (refer to the document ‘HAC Housekeeping’ for a detailed list of tasks and procedures)
  2. Notifing Senior Housekeeper or Hospitality Coordinator of any repairs that need to be done, light bulbs needing to be replaced or any other maintenance jobs you notice as soon as possible. Report any damage, missing items or items left behind by a group to the Senior Housekeeper or Hospitality Coordinator after each group use.

Make suggestions for decorations, furnishings or practices to enhance Hidden Acres’ welcome and hospitality.
